For many couples, it's the perfect option. You still get married. You still have a meaningful moment together.

What Actually Has to Happen for a Legal Australian Marriage?
Australian law requires just a few things for your marriage to be legal:
A registered marriage celebrant.
A completed Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM), lodged at least one month before your wedding date.
Two witnesses who are over 18 years of age.
The legal wording (known as the Monitum) to be read during the ceremony.
The required legal declarations and signing of your marriage documents.

One of the best things about a legals only ceremony is that there are very few rules beyond the legal requirements.
You don't need:

We'll complete the required legal wording, sign your marriage documents and officially celebrate the moment you've become husband and wife, wife and wife, or husband and husband.

All you'll need are your two witnesses and each other.
